Art in Architecture in Moabit (short tour)
MKB 2026: Guided tour
12. Jun 2026
3.00–4.30 pm
Starting point: Alt-Moabit 10, 10557 Berlin
End point: Charité High-Rise Ward Block, 10117 Berlin
How does art shape our built environment – and how does the city shape art? This tour, covering around 3.5 km, invites you to take a closer look: at works of art on and inside buildings that are often overlooked, even though they quietly accompany us in our daily lives.
The focus is on the interplay between architecture, use and surroundings, asking: What exactly is architecture-related art? Where does design end and art begin? And what does it say about its time? And how free can it actually be in the context of commission, place and time? Using selected examples, continuities and breaks, as well as current developments, will be presented and discussed.
With Constanze Musterer (art historian). In German.
Participation is free of charge.
