Versteckte Bilder

The Zillehaus is home to some special images – not just on the walls, but also in the windows, floors and many of the house’s nooks and crannies. They are the result of the Gott-Miau-Miau-Avatar-Mutter art-in-architecture project, in which collaborative drawings were engraved into the surfaces of the building. Together with the artist Jelena Fužinato and the Zilleklub, we draw, discover and tell stories. Step by step, our stories come together to form one big picture.

Gott-Miau-Miau-Avatar-Mutter is a collaborative art project at the Zilleklub children’s and youth leisure centre in Berlin-Moabit, in which over 200 people contributed their own pencil drawings. The project was initiated and implemented by the artist Jelena Fužinato. It emerged from various drawing series between 2022 and 2023, during which around 250 sketches were produced. The drawings were subsequently engraved onto the surfaces of the Zilleklub and permanently inscribed into the building’s architecture. This creates a special, interactive way for visitors to engage with the works:

The images are not only found on the walls, but are also hidden in windows, floors and the various corners of the building. The resulting archive of drawings offers an insight into contemporary local stories and realities of life. In doing so, Jelena Fužinato deliberately refrains from making judgements, categorisations or establishing hierarchical orders within the collection. Using the frottage technique (rubbing the engravings with paper and a pencil or ballpoint pen), visitors can reveal selected drawings, make copies and take them home.
